Poor me
Argh--end of session and tax time always catch me unawares. I wrote my philosophy final yesterday. Hopefully I won't have to re-take another philosophy class. I lost my thumbdrive that had my essay and all my research on it for my women's studies class :( I'm going to the lost-and-found when it opens at 1 p.m. I spent Easter studying and cooking myself a nice holiday supper--warning to knitters and vegetarians: read at your own risk--lamb roast with capers and mint, leeks mimosa with toasted hazelnuts, and for dessert, brown rice syrup and cinnamon roasted plums with greek yogurt.

Update
I am currently knee-deep in a major paper for my Human Rights class. Well, perhaps ankle-deep, since I am not yet halfway finished. But it feels like I am trudging through these obscure texts and documents as I research and write--probably because I am! This summer, I'll be taking a painting class at the Ottawa School of Art. Sad to report, my knitting and felting is on hold until I get this paper handed in, due on April 30th. However, I was very glad to receive the print copy of Ysolda's Whimsical Little Knits I had ordered.

Tricky Spring
I received good feedback after my presentation. This week I have to get through a philosophy test.
I bought a hole puncher yesterday from Staples, to punch holes in the plastic tubing I bought to make the handles of the Stash Bag, which I renamed Spring Purse. The difficult part is slipping the ribbon in the tubing--which is very narrow. I aim to bring this purse to Workshop Studio and Boutique as a prototype to sell.

Success!
S 'n b yesterday! I brought my oatmeal chocolate chip cookies to share. More posters were put up by myself and others, and two women came :) I taught Leah how to purl, knit ribbing, and cast-off. I also tidied up the knitting basket, which was a mess.
I'm nervous about my presentation today. I'll be talking about my outline for a paper on sweatshops in China. Hopefully I'll do ok.

Free Buses!
Well I succumbed to some retail therapy, taking advantage of the last day of free bus service to head out to the St-Laurent mall. My loot: cozy socks, equally cozy pj's, a lavender bath bomb, body powder, and a white shirt. I don't often indulge like this.
I'm attempting to beat my own procrastination and spend this afternoon at the library to prepare for a an upcoming presentation for my Human Rights class. Somehow, everything is suddenly more important than reading a key article for my major paper this semester. Wish me luck, for I am the Queen of Procrastination.

Odds and Ends
I didn't end up going anywhere for reading week, just caught up on some much-needed sleep and got a bit of reading done. The Stitch n' Bitch at Ottawa U isn't working out so well--I got some posters up but some of them were taken down and no one showed up for the third Tuesday in a row. I will either have to put up more posters or talk to the events coordinator at the Women's Resource Centre about it.
I started a couple new projects last night, after staying up too late baking almost-vegan oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. One I've been meaning to start for going on years now, the Chinese Charm bag from S 'n B. I ordered Whimsical Little Knits a little while ago and cast-on for the Icing Swirl hat too.
I'm back down to part-time status as a student. I plan on making up for it for taking a class this spring. Also, I recently quit my job at the community centre. I'd ideally like to find a part-time job that's more related to what I'm studying, which is women's studies and psychology, so I'm looking for a job.
I hope you have a great weekend! Spring is just around the corner! Goodbye hats, goodbye mittens!

Two days to go...
Almost study break! I can't wait! I won't be travelling, I'll actually be working, but it will be nice to not have to go to lectures for one week.
Monday I'll put up posters for the s 'n b, hopefully knitters will come in two weeks...I visited my Mom yesterday afternoon--she made a felted bowl that didn't felt right and threw it in the garbage, but I rescued it and will use it to put under one of my teapots.
